Michael Tyrrell, a former guitarist for Mylon and Broken Heart and the founder of Wholetones, a healing music project, died on November 1, 2022, at the age of 62. A Life of Music and Ministry
Michael Tyrrell was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida, and started playing guitar at the age of 10. He later studied classical guitar with Joseph Lazarro, a protégé of Andre Segovia. He came to know the Lord at a young age during the Jesus People movement of the early 70s. He began touring with Young American Showcase during his senior year in high school and achieved success as a musician.
However, his life took a dark turn when he became addicted to cocaine and decided to end his life. In his final moments, he cried out to God for help and was miraculously saved. He experienced a radical transformation and dedicated his life to serving God. He joined Mylon Lefevre and Broken Heart, a Christian rock band, in 1984 and recorded the album Look Up in 1986.
He married Lillian in 1994 and they traveled and ministered together with the band DuBeel, playing and sharing the gospel in bars and clubs. He later moved to Nashville and worked in ministry with Don Finto at Belmont Church.
A Legacy of Healing and Hope

He claimed that he received a divine revelation about the healing frequencies of music and developed a series of albums and products based on this concept. He also wrote a book called The Sound of Healing, explaining the science and the spirituality behind his music.
Michael Tyrrell was also a generous and compassionate person, who supported various causes and charities, such as Operation Underground Railroad, a non-profit organization that rescues children from human trafficking.
