Evelyn Lutman was born on November 17, 1917, in Ada, Oklahoma.
They married on December 25, 1938, and had four children: Rebecca, Ronald, Richard, and Roberta. Evelyn supported her husband’s ministry as a faithful partner, traveling with him to crusades, praying for the sick, and helping him build Oral Roberts University and Oral Roberts Ministries.
She faced many challenges and tragedies in her life, such as losing her son Ronald to suicide in 1982 and her daughter Rebecca to a plane crash in 1977. She also endured criticism and controversy over her husband’s teachings and practices.
A Role Model and Inspiration
Evelyn Roberts was admired and respected by many people for her grace, wisdom, and compassion. She was a role model and inspiration for women in ministry, as well as for wives and mothers.
